Our
policies are intended as a reminder to all players who visit and play at our
facility. Our key goal is to maintain a clean, safe, and top-notch place to
play the sport we love. We can all do our part to ensure that everyone receives
fair and equitable use of the facility. For those long time players at this
center, thank you for making all newcomers feel welcome.
:: Before Playing
If you are
a member, please remember to sign in at the deck; if you are not a member,
please pay the per-visit drop-in fee to the manager-in-charge and sign in.
To protect
the floor from scratches and other damage, please bring the soft-rubber non-marking
shoes you will play in and change to them before entering the playing area.
Please
only take drinks in spill-proof containers into the playing area – but no food.
We also ask that you remove empties from the playing area so no hazards are
created for the players after you.
Bottled
water and soft drinks are available for purchase in the self-serve refrigerator.
Please pay the listed amount into the money jar sitting on top.
For health
and other reasons, gluing of rubber sheets inside the facility is prohibited.
We have a table and chairs outside for this purpose.
:: While Playing
Players
are free to use any available table to practice or play matches for as long as
they like if no other player is challenging the table.
A waiting
player can ‘challenge’ a table by placing his/her paddle to the side of the
table by the wheels.
Players at
the table cannot refuse or pick and choose challengers.
Once
challenged, the players at the table should start a best of five-game match
(11-point games) – if a warm-up is needed, it should be limited to 5 minutes.
If the players elect not to play a match, they may stay on for up to 15 minutes
longer before turning the table over to the challenger – please let the
challenger know if this is the case.
A waiting
player can only challenge one table at a time.
It is
acceptable for a player, who has not yet played for the day, to warm up on an
open table while he/she is challenging a table. However, the player should have the
courtesy of giving up the table to new waiting players coming into the center.
During
busy hours when many players are waiting, please do not monopolize a table –
this includes long drill practices, especially using multi-ball.
Please
call a let when a stray ball enters the court in play and return the ball as
quickly as possible.
When it is
necessary to walk pass other court areas, please always wait until the players
have finished their point.
Please
remember that even in the heat of battle, we need to exercise good
sportsmanship, which include watching our actions and choosing our words. After
all, we like to make sure that everyone receives equally enjoyable time at the
center.
