Yiyong Fan is a first rate player with energy, speed and precision which have taken him farther and faster than nearly any player in the world. - Yong was born on January of 1969 in Shandong Province, People's Republic of China.
- He started playing table tennis when he was seven years old and was selected by the Chinese Academic and Sports Academy to train as a professional player.
- In 1985 he won the Chinese national junior championship and was promoted to the national team.
- At the 1991 National Championships he placed third in all of China.
- From 1992 to 1994 he coached at the National Champion Club Fahaheel in Kuwait.
- In 1994 Yong accepted an offer to represent the professional Malev Sport Club of Budapest, Hungary.
- He played #1 for their team and competed in the prestigious European Superliga which is composed of the top three clubs from each of Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
- From 1994 to 1998 Yong dominated, being European Super League Top Player.
- After traveling and competing throughout Europe, Yong decided to move to America and eventually settled in Seattle.
- From 1998 to present, rank #1 in the U.S.
- From 2001 to 2005 Yong conducted coaching clinics at his table tennis club at Bitter Lake Community Center in Seattle.
- In May 2005, Yong started Washington Table Tennis Center, the first full-time table tennis facility in Washington State.
- Yong is the 2007 USATT National Junior Boy's team coach.
